The Perfect July 4th Makeup Look
The Fourth of July is one of America’s favorite holidays, a day for celebrating patriotism with barbecues, fireworks, and, of course, your best red, white, and blue attire. No July 4th outfit would be complete without a great makeup look but that doesn’t mean layering up with blue eye shadow! Let’s talk about our favorite Independence Day makeup look and how to achieve it!
Let’s start with the hardest part: the eyes. At some point in your life, someone has probably told you to avoid blue eyeshadow and while that rule shouldn’t be so hard and fast, you don’t need much of it for this look. Our favorite patriotic eye look starts with a shimmery white or silver shadow applied all over the lid, paying extra attention to the inner corner. Remember that adding light colors to your inner corner will make your eyes look wider, making you look more awake!
Once you have on your shimmery shadow, grab a blue eyeliner and create a winged look. Your wing can be as simple or as dramatic as you like but remember that a bright true blue is a better choice than navy liner because you definitely want this to be a pop of color! Finish off the eyes by lightly applying a red shadow just under your lower lash line in the outer corner of your eye.
Next, apply your foundation, concealer, and a light blush. Of course, we can’t skip highlighter on July 4th! Grab a bright highlighter and dust your cheek bones to give your face a flirty glow. We suggest choosing a cool-toned highlighter to compliment your shimmery eyeshadow and blue liner.
Finally, we need some more red representation! And the perfect place for red is on the lips. Choose a bright cherry red or deeper true red lipstick to finish off your Independence Day makeup look! Red lipstick is fun and classic on any day but especially this national holiday.
