Banana Collagen “Ice Cream”
Did you know you can make “ice cream” with bananas and no dairy? Seriously, all it takes is a few ripe bananas in a blender and some time in the freezer and you have a yummy snack that you can’t even tell isn’t really ice cream! If you’re trying to be healthy, this is an amazing way to kick your sweet treat cravings without overloading yourself with sugar or fat. This recipe is even better because it gives you a boost of collagen and amino acids that will fuel you and keep your skin, nails, hair, joints, etc. healthy!
Alright, so, all you need to do is buy a couple of ripe bananas and then wait a day or two (you want them ripe but not overly-browned… we’re not making banana bread). Then throw the bananas in a blender or food processor with a tablespoon of almond or coconut milk and a scoop of Traditional Tonic Nourishing Collagen. Blend your mixture for a few minutes and, when it’s smooth, freeze it and then enjoy!
You can spice up this recipe by adding strawberries or blueberries, a bit of vanilla extract, some chocolate chips, caramel, or any of your other favorite ice cream additions! You’ll forget you’re only eating bananas!
- 2 ripe bananas
- 1 Tbsp almond or coconut milk
- 1 scoop Traditional Tonic Nourishing Collagen
- Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth and soft
- Scoop into a container and freeze
