Collagen Avocado Brownies

Collagen Avocado Brownies with Traditional Tonic Nourishing Collagen

Brownies… if the word alone doesn’t make you salivate then you are certainly not me. In my humble opinion, there are very few things in this world as wonderful as a warm, gooey brownie. Chocolaty and moist, brownies are one of the mainstays of American baked goods and it’s no wonder why. Unfortunately, my diet does not agree with my belief that brownies should be consumed daily. Brownies are generally high in sugars and the wrong kind of fat and have very little nutritional value.

Thankfully, the food world’s miracle that is the avocado came along. You might think avocado brownies sound terrible but you’d be wrong. Avocado substitutes butter in this brownie recipe and adds omega 3's and healthy fats without taking away the brownie flavor! These brownies are also amazing because Traditional Tonic Nourishing Collagen provides 18 amino acids and healthy protein that does all kinds of wonderful things for your body, not to mention the collagen that helps make your hair, skin, nails, joints, and even brain healthier! While normal brownies are a guilty pleasure, these collagen avocado brownies are a pleasure from start to finish, no guilt required.

Ingredients:

2 ripe avocados with skin and pit removed

1/2 cup maple syrup

1/4 cup sugar

2 large eggs

1 tsp. vanilla extract

1/2 tsp. baking soda

1/2 cup whole wheat flour

1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

3 scoops Traditional Tonic Nourishing Collagen

1/2 tsp. salt

1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and grease a small baking pan (8x8 works well but it can be slightly larger if you don’t mind a thinner, more well-done brownie)
  2. Blend the avocados, maple syrup, and sugar in a blender or food processor until well combined and then add in the eggs and vanilla
  3. When the mixture is uniform, transfer to a mixing bowl and slowly incorporate flour, baking soda, Traditional Tonic Nourishing Collagen, salt, and cocoa and mix well
  4. Gently add the chocolate chips
  5. Spread the batter in your pan and bake 25-30 minutes
