Adaptogenic Hot Cocoa
Merry Christmas season to you and yours! We'll spare you the typical long, boring pre-recipe blog post & get right to the good stuff. Warm up & de-stress with our Adaptogenic Hot Cocoa!
Why Adaptogens? Adaptogens are non-toxic plants that can help the body resist physical, chemical, and biological stressors. They have been used for centuries in Chinese and Ayurvedic healing traditions.
1 tbsp unsweetened cacao powder
1 C hot water or non-dairy milk
1 tsp Red Reishi Powder
Dash of cinnamon
Pinch of salt
Sweeten to taste (sugar, stevia, maple syrup or honey)
½ tsp vanilla extract (optional)
& of course - mini marshmallows for topping!
Pour milk/water into saucepan, &gently heat.
While milk is warming, mix dry ingredients in mug.
Once warmed, pour liquid into mug and mix to ensure the liquid and powder are thoroughly blended.
Add in vanilla extract & whisk with an electric whisk for maximum frothiness
Sweeten to taste, top with mini marshmallows, & enjoy!
