The Best Trends of Fall Fashion 2018

It’s officially the time of the year when we get to swap out our wardrobes, trading shorts and tanks for leggings and cozy sweaters. If you love comfort, fall marks the beginning of the best half of the year. But fall fashion is about so much more than scarves and cardigans. The fall runway brings us exciting trends we’re sure to be seeing everywhere this season. This fall, we’re seeing the re-emergence of some old trends which means you just might already have the building blocks for these styles in the back of your closet. This fall, as opposed to being bland and neutral, is favoring some seriously attention-grabbing trends. Up your wardrobe game and celebrate fall by adding some of these fashionable touches to your apparel.
High-shine fabrics: That rubber raincoat you had when you were young is finally on-trend again! From silver metallics to vinyl and latex fabrics, glossy outfits are all the rage this fall. We’re going to be seeing more full-metallic or latex dresses in stores this fall so get ready to be a show-stopper when you walk in a room. If you’re not ready to go all out, pick up a statement jacked in one of these high-shine fabrics so that you can add it in to any outfit.
Colorful plaid: We’ve been seeing a slow but steady dawning of the age of plaid but it is officially here. No longer are we talking about baggy red plaid lumberjack shirts, though. This fall, plaid is super chic, gracing slimmer silhouettes and branching out into colors that Cher Horowitz would have been proud to wear. Look for skirts and dresses in yellow or orange plaid if you want to be super on-trend.
80s style markers: Some trends we haven’t seen since the 80s are also making a come-back in 2018. Neon-colored tights, big shoulders, and acid wash denim are having a renaissance this fall! Pair these vintage-inspired styles with more modern pieces to tone down the costume vibe a full 80s look can sometimes exude.
Chic western: The western look is another style that is back with a twist this season. We’re seeing lots of patchwork floral on everything from jackets to dresses to boots but the silhouettes of this year’s western wear is a lot more modern than we’ve seen before. The runways have debuted figure hugging western styles with sharply-tailored shirts and slacks featuring signature western detailing. This fall, you can also top your outfits off with glitzy cowboy boots whether they’re metallic or stark white.
